A simple truth

Have you ever wondered why the Pharisees tithed spices and herbs, not their money, and why Jesus acknowledged this?

Jesus said: "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others." Matthew 23:23

Biblical tithing was never supposed to involve money, not even in Jesus' day! It was defined for the farming community to practice, and not for wage earners or the poor. God has a principle for dealing with financial gifts that let's you choose how much you want to give.
